Iran Artists' House has honored veteran actor Daryoush Asadzadeh with a cedar statue.
The house commemorated the veteran actor on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
The commemoration ceremony was held along with revealing a book titled 'Tehran narrated by Daryoush Asadzadeh' which offers some of the actor's memories from Tehran.
Explaining about the book, Asadzadeh said the book is a little portion of his memories in artistic activities that he has had since 1940s.
Born in 1923 in the western Iranian city of Kermanshah, Asadzadeh decided to pursue his education in acting, beginning his artistic career in theater, upon finishing high school.
The National Arts Center also sent him to Paris to participate in the theater festival there. Upon his return, the veteran actor began directing plays.
Later in 1967, he traveled to the US for the film ‘It Happened in America’ where he began acting and script writing.
He then returned to Iran in 1986 and started making films and taking on television projects.
Asadzadeh has been active in the field of arts for more than 70 years and has performed in many movies, including ‘Spouse’, ‘Scent of Camphor; Fragrance of Jasmine’, ‘This is not a Love Song’, ‘Music Box’, ‘Resident of the Wooden Cottage’, ‘Hello Grandfather’ and ‘Orphanages of Tehran’.
He has also appeared in the television films like ‘Treasure of the White House’, ‘A Decent Job’ and ‘The Poet and Brothers’.
His television series include ‘The Green House’, ‘The Friendship Agency’, ‘Days of Youth’, ‘Dark Intelligence’, ‘Suitcase’, ‘Special Guest’, ‘39 Weeks’ and ‘Huge Problems 2’.
Asadzadeh has also been a jury member in Iran’s House of Cinema and has authored a number of books.
